Truly, being a bass is a hard life! I was going to say Porgy, but I think technically the role is a bass-baritone. Baritones do get the girl from time to time, though - Figaro, for a start!

Prince Gremin is definitely a bass and both gets the girl and a song about how he adores her and how his life is amazing now he has love in it, but on the downside he is both retired and his wife is in love (to some degree) with Onegin, so he doesn't have everything.
