It seemed a reasonable one for an indicative vote, though I think we'd have to be in a bloc of one outside EFTA because Norway and co would have to be insane to let the UK in, given the propensity for wrecking behaviour demonstrated in the past couple of years (though even if we were capable of working in good faith, the UK still wouldn't work as a member of EFTA due to the disparity between the different economies).
I disagree with him on vast amounts of other things, but his sincerity on this seems clear, and I like to think that he has not done Boris's chances any good.
