Last time I traveled abroad: July 2019. Summer holiday to St Anton, now in a coronavirus hotspot. I see that I didn't do a post about it, whoops. The hiking was great, I bashed my knee on the last day. Of course, I should be traveling home from holiday today...

Last time I slept in a hotel Last July, same holiday.

Last time I flew in a plane: January 2020, returning from spending Christmas with my parents. Turned out it was the last time ever I'll travel with Flybe, they've gone bust.

Last time I took a train: 15 March 2020, returning from a flying visit to antisoppist

Last time I took public transport: Tuesday 18 March 2020, but home from work. Ironically, I passed more people the next day walking to work than I would have met had I got the bus.

Last time I had a house guest: First weekend in Feb, my parents visited.

Last time I got my hair cut: December 2019. My hair is short, but grows really slowly. I get it cut about 3 times a year.

Last time I went to the movies pictures: Early Feb 2020, with my parents to see David Copperfield.

Last time I went to the theatre: 7 February 2020, to see Book of Mormon with antisoppist

Last time I went to a concert: August 2019,Götterdämmerung at the Edinburgh International Festival.

Last time I went to an art museum: 1 March 2020, the V&A's excellent kimono exhibition.

Last time I sat down in a restaurant: 22 February 2020, brunch with naraht. Ed. No, it was a week later, late lunch with friend after the kimono exhibition.

Last time I went to a party: Ages ago! Probably antisoppist's birthday party, so August 2018.

Last time I played a board game: 14 March 2020, with antisoppist and Small Daughter. I lost. Also discovered Kingdomino with my parents at Christmas, great fun.

I like this meme! It tells me that you're a lot more cultured than I am, and that maybe my household should try Kingdomino. How are you feeling? Clearly not so fatigued that you can't post, so that's a good sign!

Kingdomino is very good, at least if you're a household who prefers games that don't involve being cut-throat towards other people, which we are hopeless at.

I am feeling a bit brighter today - collapsed less in the afternoon than I have been doing. Might manage to try an hour of work email tomorrow morning, we'll see!

I loathe cut-throat games, so Kingdomino sounds very promising.

Yeah, turns out I was ambitious with that one! I did send two emails - one to my line manager to tell her I wasn't in again and ask her to check something, and one to a colleague to forward because I was feeling guilty about something. But that's it! I have now added minor cold symptoms. Why??? (Actually, it's obvious that since my body is terrible at finishing off all other minor respiratory infections so that they linger forever, it should be exactly the same for this one. I don't even feel particularly bad! Just that bit under the bar that allows for work, or much of anything really.)

In that case Kingdomino might be just the thing.

Götterdämmerung <3 I love Wagner! Sadly the director of the Opera house in my city is Italian and prefers to offers all the Verdi's Opera many times than to change things a bit.

I've only seen Götterdämmerung and Siegfried so far, but I loved them. I intend to watch the Ring over the next few weeks, perfect opportunity even if not the same as live!

I like Verdi in moderation, but anything can get a bit samey.

If you have to see one Ring, I'd choose the one orchestrated by Patrice Chereau. It's not the best for the vocal part but the staging is wonderful!
In 2004-2005 I also saw a wonderful but very modern version in my city. The orchestra was above the scene, as to represent Valhalla!

I feel the same about Verdi!
