...Of the main fuse blowing at 10:30pm, the internet accessible by my phone tells me the contents of my freezer will be fine until the morning. I got a new fuse box last week. At such moments, there are upsides to being a tenant :-) And I did swear I'd switch my bedside light off tonight by 11:15pm and won't even need willpower! At least as long as I'm not tempted by Saki on the Kindle.

ETA: No, it was a powercut. It's just that this was difficult to tell at night when the neighbours on either side each had power, as did the two nearest lampposts. Evidently we are on a weird sort of circuit!

I hope they fix it soon and you don't have to eat all the things as the power slowly drains from all your electrical devices.

Turned out to be a power cut, and now seems to be back, hurray! Or at least back for me, there are still two vans and men looking actively at something.

I'm on a weird sort of circuit too. It is only a problem when the neighbour the other side of the lane whose power goes off when mine does and who has the electricity network emergency phone number pinned to the wall next to her phone has gone to stay with her daughter in Australia. Otherwise you just get the rest of the street saying "well mine is fine". I have downloaded the power cut reporting app now but we get power cuts a lot more often than you do!
