Oh wow and thrice woe!

It is Friday night and my home is devoid of pudding. Well, not entirely. I have some mince pies, I have waffles in the freezer that might be eaten with jam and squirty cream, but that is not what I want. What I really want is posh chocolates, and I have none.

I am eating an orange instead. A consolation of January is that it has very good oranges.

ETA Crisis averted, I have violet creams. They aren't quite what I yearn for, but will do as a substitute.

I have been rejoicing in the orange-studded panettone a friend gave us, and M has been complaining that I like it better than his Christmas cake. Since he knows perfectly well that I don't like rich fruit cake and therefore makes it for himself and visitors, I have very little sympathy. But I also feel the need of chocolate and received none at all for Christmas. Woe.

No chocolate for Christmas? That's terrible! M can complain about your not eating his cake once he has catered to your basic needs. (I do like Christmas cake, but my family were fine with 1 between 8 of us.)
