Sorry, was unclear - I meant that if the DD thinks the wedding clothes are no good for driving to London, they are probably not suited for driving to Hertfordshire, either. I'd just never picked this up. And good point about H's reflection as well, which I'd not noticed, but sounds convincing.
It is a short reception - but not as short as that in "Janie of La Rochelle", in which the wedding is at noon and they catch the 2 o'clock boat to Sark. (I have things to say about the Janie books, which I enjoyed enormously, and one of them is how extraordinarily touchy-feely Janie and Julian are for EBD.)
