Don't get me wrong, I love Busman's Honeymoon. I just love the idea of them dossing down in a haystack and foiling car thieves. My one big peeve with BH is that Harriet and Peter are much less proactive, to my mind, than in other books, and that bothers me. I know that a large point of the book is to show that murder and solving crimes and all that is an integral part of Peter's life and character which it shows so well. And the ending is just wrenching and perfect - but every time I read it, that part of it nags at me.
