This fic is massively self-indulgent and destined for a very small audience, but I've written +1000 words of it today after not writing anything but my diary for several months, so I shall take that as a plus. I have not defrosted the freezer as planned, but I feel that is a minor price to pay.

I tend to enjoy your fics enormously so ... what canon should I be reading/watching so as to appreciate this properly?

Thank you for your kind words :-) This one is Tanz der Vampire and fairly short*, but I am determined to use it as a springboard to get back into some more regular writing this autumn. The Wimsey/Potterverse Corsican werewolf mystery needs to be finished!

*And will get a little introduction to its immediate context on DW for the benefit of those for whom cheesy German-language vampire musicals aren't a thing.
