a) do you want bits cut off it?
b) will she cut the bits you want cut off it?
c) does she own suitable scissors?

I was assuming you were suggesting it because if it goes horribly wrong, there will be a long gap before you see her again for you, and your hair, to recover but perhaps I am being unduly pessimistic. It is still a point though.

a) Yes.
b) The lack of psychic powers makes this task more difficult, but I decided I didnt trust her less than finding a new oxford hairdresser.
c) Yes. They are probably the same pair that did it when I was 5!

The last day issue was simply that I'd not got round to thinking about it sooner and suddenly it was the last opportunity. But we went for it and it was successful.
