It is possible that on Saturday I popped in to a charity shop in Summertown and came away with the Phantom of the Opera DVD instead. I wish I had seen the Ken Hill version many years ago so that I could compare, but I didn't, so I can't.
Anyway, in a world in which the Phantom of the Opera is played by Gerald Butler and goes to the gym a lot, and there is more than one erotic novel about the character, I think that this person deserves an award for the best “have actually read the book” fanfic summary ever:
The Wedding Night by Maat
Leroux!Erik is an over fifty deformed recluse virgin who’s never been kissed and who smells like death. How will he perform on his wedding night?
After this, it’s not surprise that dialogue and plot don’t quite match up to the standards set, but you can’t have everything.
