Normal winter weather: panic seizes press

It's December. It's mildly chilly in the south-east. Get a grip! And if you commute to work and have a reasonable income, do this by fitting winter tyres. I have Yaktrax, which I didn't get the chance to wear last year.

Yesterday I paid my gas/electricity bill, which has naturally rocketed with the weather. I was delighted to discover that they have done away with the only option being voice recognition, and introduced being able to enter numbers via the telephone. And thus for the first time in ages I didn't pay my bill while fuming and thinking of the genius that is voice recognition in a lift in Scotland:
