I do feel that the loss of Soviet Machine is a significant one! Not least in losing a bass for a baritone. The London bass was Phillip Browne, and having also seen him in Jesus Christ Superstar I shall definitely be looking out for him in future.
As antisoppist points out in her review, you really need a chorus number for Act II, so the R&J works in that respect, and it did work in the moment, but it was a bit weird...
