If you have to see one Ring, I'd choose the one orchestrated by Patrice Chereau. It's not the best for the vocal part but the staging is wonderful! In 2004-2005 I also saw a wonderful but very modern version in my city. The orchestra was above the scene, as to represent Valhalla!
