They should be so lucky! Robe shields are the wizarding world equivalent of dress shields, bits of cotton tacked into the underarms of garments to reduce the necessary frequency of washing (the garments, not the wearer!). The crop up in accounts of mid-C20 convent education, and tend to be reported in much-loathed tones.
