I can just see him licking his hands to clean behind his ears.
It’s a pity there’s so little of Bunter in GN, but I suppose a character hanging around the plot being madly in love with someone and making him the centre of his life without letting it grind down his personality or sense of moral judgement, might risk a much shorter book.
