Even such is life – and Wimsey fic
Dec. 18th, 2006 01:37 pmLast week before Christmas, I still can’t think of a present for Middle Sister, am beginning to panic about flat-hunting, and wondering, as I fail to get the Romilda Vane fic finished (partly because it’s been hijacked by Andromeda and Snape), why weekends seem to pass so quickly, and whether it’s the absence of a recent television series that leads to there not being an archive of NC-17 Sayers fic called As my Wimsey Takes Me. On the plus side, I forgot to mention that Family Album: The Truth in the Oracle has been Niffled by the estimable
snorkackcatcher, and after a brief discussion with the mods on the correct use of tenses (It’s called style) is now up at FictionAlley. So I really ought to get on with Romilda, who is not stuck in WiP hell because of extreme length, I might add, but entirely due to my lack of application.
In Heffers at lunchtime, I observed that the author of the execrable Mr Darcy Takes a Wife has written a sequel; Elizabeth and Darcy: Nights and Days at Pemberley. Clearly professional fan-fiction is the way out of the 9 - 5. Only another 27 years to go before Sayers is up for grabs. In the meantime, a bit of Wimsey fic, on the subject of Barbara. You may say “whitewash,” I couldn’t possibly comment. I have theories about Barbara, and I still want to see Barbara/Paul Delagardie fic. Call it my Snape/Squid equivalent of choice.
