When Spooks first came out, I watched it devotedly. I may not have been up for Portillo (well I was, but not in front of a television at that particular moment), but I was there for the chip fat incident. Then over the next couple of series it got a bit soapy, and other things were on and I stopped watching. I am told that it is now back to its best.
And now Richard Armitage is going to be in it. Damn. There can be no resistance. Even if he is playing a character called Lucas North.
The BBC are refreshingly honest about the reasons behind Armitage’s casting:
'Katie Swinden, producer of Spooks, continues: "Richard is a fantastic addition to the Spooks team; he has that dark and brooding quality which make him perfect for the role of Lucas North.” ' They also think that 'Audiences are going to be intrigued and engaged by the rather compelling force of Lucas North!' for which I think we can all read 'We are hoping that viewers will be rendered crazed and drooling sex maniacs by this man,' although for Guy of Gisborne fans there is bad news on the leather front.
How long until the first piece of Harry/North slash?
