I CAN HAZ FOTO!
Aug. 18th, 2008 02:48 pmIn a daring and decisive mood, I went down to Jessops this lunchtime (add to list of things Oxford doesn't have: specialist photographic shop) and acquired this camera for £139, which is a little more than the cheapest internet option, but a lot less than some, and I decided that I wanted it in my hand as I only have a week and a half to learn how to use it. As with many things, it is a compromise in some ways - I wanted a viewfinder, which cuts down options, and having a slightly larger zoom means that it is less compact - but I am very pleased with it. It offers a bit more than point-and-click without being complicated or fiendishly expensive. All the reviews seems good, and if I develop any skill, there are manual settings for me to fiddle about with before deciding that I'll stick with the automatic ones. I need to buy a large memory card and a batter charger, but otherwise, I am set for a new era of photographic adventure! No doubt the results will end up on LJ from time to time.
