They stole (or 'acquired') our personal information and used it to manipulate us against our best interests, in a blatant undermining of the democratic process.

And Facebook knew they had it, and did fuck all about it. I've been watching Channel 4 news with my jaw on the floor for about an hour now.

What's worse? This is barely a story on American media.

I'm sorry. Every angle of it is just so utterly appalling. The undercover interviews that they had with Nix (?) where he blithely talked about how he could undermine the democratic process for the person he believed himself to be talking to were just staggering, a total moral vacuum.

It's a big deal here as well, front page of NY Times last couple of days--they joined the investigation and looked at the facebook end. Apparently Wylie has agreed to testify before one of the Congressional committees now.

I'm actually a bit flabbergasted by how all these threads: Brexit, Trump, Russia etc. are converging.

Yes, it's interesting how many things are becoming linked through this common thread of a particular way of attempting to influence the electorate. I suppose it is subtler than simply owning the newspapers and imprisoning journalists, but perhaps not less effective.
