Far, far later than I ought to have done I have purchased, and this afternoon used, a cordless hoover. No more lugging the nearly 7kg Henry (beloved by landlords and builders because they are indeed robust and effective) up the stairs. No more assembling bits of steel and plastic that take strength rather than a simple click. No more bending over a really awkward angle that makes my neck ache. No, now I take the light, easy bits from their space (alas, not a wall-mounted bracket because I rent and I'm not going through the palaver to install it), click what I want into place, and whisk round as needed a few minutes at a time rather than having to do the entire house at once to justify the effort, which these days basically takes most of the day. And it comes highly-rated for pet hair. I don't hair a pet, but my goodness does my hair like to twist itself into the upstairs carpets.

This post is brought to you by the Tineco A10 Hero, a Which? Best Buy and with replacement batteries literally a third of the cost of those from a couple of the competition that I'd looked at, and honestly, even the fact that the only UK stockist is Amazon came as a relief in that it minimised decisions.

I think that this might actually be the most boring subject of a DW post I've ever made :-D
