Yeurgh!

The problem is far from new: in the autumn of 1900, trains in the vicinity ground to a halt when millipedes on the tracks prevented their wheels from gripping.

I'm surprised British Rail useless privatised train company of your choice hasn't tried that one, mind.

Soon they will reach Freiburg, and it will all be over with you...

I bet British Rail have used it, but realised they could only get away with it once...

*cowers in terror*

If I dream about being eaten by millipedes, I know who I'll blame, although at least it will be a distraction from the flatmate bother.

And I thought the one at the museum in Oxford was such a relatively inoffensive creature. Little did I know it harboured quite as many empire-building dreams as the cockroach...

I just hope they are smaller than the museum ones and their sticky feet. (Hope you didn't get burned down yesterday)

Yes, an army of giant millipedes advancing on your town would definitely be a troubling sight.

I am taking a few days off work and didn't get round to leaving the house till 4pm yesterday, when it was getting dark anyway and there was no sign of dramatic black smoke plumes. I always miss the excitement - and am not really complaining about that! Not that the fires were exactly on my doorstep, but they weren't far away at all.
