Heightened awareness

Alone in the office (burglar alarm successfully negotiated) clearing rubbish off my desk and finishing odd stuff so I can go off to my secondment tomorrow with a clear mind. The phones beep at random intervals, the building creeps, and I keep feeling that at any moment SPECTRE agents are going to emerge from the shadowy corners.

But at least you don't have boxes of dead knights and nuns in the room above you and the probability of live rodents in the vicinity...makes working at night rather an odd experience...

I work in a museum connected to a former Abbey, once lived in by Benedictine Monks, Knights Templar and Poor Clare Nuns. The archaeological material is in the store above the office...
