The one I do want to dig out is one of the short stories in The Heart of Princess Osra, which deals with one of the Noble Families featured in Zenda, the Good Members of which 'feared nothing but their Maker', and the Bad Members of which 'feared nothing at all'. I recall it containing a wonderful badass Bishop, much like Brian Blessed in Blackadder.
4. My Most Shameful Desire is to invent the illegitimate daughter of Rupert Hentzau and Irene Adler, and call her Maria Susanna.
