It's so incongruous. All that care for the island and appreciation of its beauty and the environment of the archipelago around them - and then chucking rubbish into the sea. Though you make a good point about the plastic.
I can only hope that Sophie's dad is overwhelmed by his wife's death and burying himself in work, but will improve. Maybe.
