WTF work and Wimsey

Feeling rather shattered after a very long day with an unexpected two hour meeting in it that meant I missed a vital meeting (that wasn’t quite as vital as the unexpected one), which I now have tomorrow, absolutely must get in for 8:30 tomorrow morning, and generally I am shaking my head and thinking “When the hell is everything going to get done?” On the other hand, it is temporary shatteredness that should go with a decent night’s sleep (must exert willpower and get to bed in good time) and I have quite a bit of energy when I am not being hysterical, so that’s good.

It was just the day, therefore, to check fanfiction.net and discover a new Wimsey ficlet. There are some very nice short fics on FFN that haven’t made it to AO3, it’s worth a look it you haven’t seen them. This one is Peter and Mary* immediately after Strong Poison.

*Though not Paul. Oh God, I am now having crossover thoughts and hideous visions of Paul Delagardie in dungarees.

Yay, cheering wimseyfic. Not that it's really that cheering as fic goes but you know what I mean. Was yesterday meetings of doom day or something? I had a choir committee meeting that first off they put at 6*, which meant I had to leave at 5.30 before tea, and then went on until 8.15! How can it take over two hours to get through 9 agenda items? I am aware I must not say things like this or they will suggest I become chair. As it is I may have accidentally become webmaster.

*Half of them are retired and the conductor wants to get home to Exeter before midnight, so that makes sense, but...

Meetings take as long as the time available for them. 6:30 - 8 should be ample time. This is why I am fighting against extending the meeting of doom to the Sunday afternoon, because it will end up being twice as long but the end people will still be rushed. Yesterday was a meeting about the meeting of doom. It is going to be a long month... I am currently trying to open encrypted files and failing.

It was reasonably cheering Wimseyfic. I quite like Peter and Mary interacting, and there isn't a lot of it about.

I am crawling through urgent stuff at a snail's pace at the moment, and don't know when it will all get done either (well, by November)...

I do at least have the benefit of a deadline. Term is going to be horrific, because I have the meeting of doom at the start of June, and then I have catch-up from stuff I have neglected for it, and other things. But I will get a summer. November is a very long way off.
