Summary: Who would have thought that the combination of massive blood loss and a simple pain medicine would have reversed the effects of both the Poison of the Bitter Flame and the Bingxu pill? Certainly not Lin Chen. It would have been one thing if his genius had been able to take full credit, but unfortunately he had pronounced General Mei dead last night.
I didn't intend* to spend this morning adding to the ranks of Nirvana in Fire fix-it fics, but it couldn't be helped. And it did achieve my aim of a lie-in followed by relaxing.
*I intended to spend it re-living my teenage days of painting fantasy landscapes inspired by what I was currently madly fannish about.
