I have put Gaudy Night in lolcats (although not, I stress, with actual cats). On the plus side, I am much more technologically adept than I was yesterday.

That along with the Mary Russell series introduced me to Peter. And once I read the actual book... "PETER took Harriet to feed the DUCKS!"

TSNOTD is wonderful (tho' I wish the editor had given the Irish servant girl and sister names other than Colleen and Gladys, unless these are subtle clues that in fact the two of them are not-very-good historians themselves) - in fact, it was mention of TSNOTD on the internet before I'd read it that was one of the factors in introducing me to Sayers, because I thought (a) Sayers sounds good and (b) if I read Gaudy Night I can read this other fabulous-sounding work. The cats! And the penwipers!

TSNOTD is my ultimate comfort read - it's like a really good comedy of manners, but with extra literary allusions thrown in. And the cats are such a lovely touch!
