I argue strongly that cake is an important part of a healthy balanced diet*. Likewise pudding. But thanks to a series of garden parties and a wedding, cake and wine made up my main food intake between Wednesday and Monday, so I felt it was time for a change. Tonight is rather more skewed towards vegetables, plus pasta. Oh, and gooseberries with fromage frais for pudding.

Meanwhile I shall be watching Newsnight tonight. Though I do hope that despicable as the Milly Dowler angle is, it is not overlooked that the NoW broke the law in hacking anybody's phones, that they didn't only distress the Dowler family but impeded a murder investigation, and as for the bribed police officers... Oh, and that it absolutely is not all down to Rebekah Brooks and thus nothing to do with the rest of News International.

*I argue this when I am being serious, too.

Living on cake and wine sounds rather biblical (is there cake in the Bible? Perhaps I mean fairy stories. At all events, it is the kind of diet princes and dwellers in paradise enjoy)

1. Lo, Nineveh_uk went down into the garden and they offered her cake and wine.
2. And she ate and drank and they came and offered again, and again she partook of the cake and the wine, and also of the little nibbly things that had fish in them.
3. Then said Nineveh_uk, "Let us now get hold of the young man in waistcoat, for he comes bearing prosecco and it is good."

The feast is not quite over yet - I had wedding cake for elevenses, and have some left for tomorrow.

A cake a day keeps the glums away!

And on more serious matters... still boggling over some of this NoW stuff. I mean, I knew Murdoch (just mis-typed that as Mordoch *hee*) hacks were utter trolls, but some of what's coming out now (assuming it's true) is almost beyond belief.

And I can't imagine anything thinking it's limited to NoW (except maybe Cameron and his stooges). Didn't Cameron work in the media before politics? God, the incestuousness of this NI/police/politics crap is really freaky, isn't it? And now, of course, the public inquiry isn't going to be into NoW's actions, but some generic twaddle about "press regulation". As to the Ginger Medusa, I suspect that once the inquiries are over and her usefulness as a shield for James Murdoch is over she'll get punted by geezer and they'll be handed Sky on a plate.

Sometimes it's nice to live in a country where nothing interesting ever happens. :/

Surely a large slice of Strawberry cake constitutes one of your five-a-day?
(if unxure, add some apple pie as the second..)
