I CAN HAZ JAB!

As we said in around 2005. Covid booster on Saturday, thanks to the GP putting me on the list. I seem to have got off pretty easily as regards the side-effects, with just some muscle aches and fatigue. I'll take that.
My parents came for the weekend, did all the cooking, assisted in the purchase and installation of a new lavatory seat (rule one for when I get the bathroom done: have the bolts to change the toilet seat easily accessible!), and generally we had a very pleasant time not doing a great deal. The Covid jab wasn't perfect timing, but I felt I was unlikely to suffer the fever/headache that would really make me just want to stay in bed, as I hadn't before, so it was worth getting it asap.
It was my mother's birthday on Saturday, which was really nice as I'm not normally around for family birthdays. Alas, my Youngest Sister, ordering a last-minute additional present of Georgette Heyer's Arabella for me to wrap found that Amazon sent instead Arabella, by Anonymous an A4 print out of terrible late-Victorian porn. Alas, it is the type of Victorian porn that makes Fanny Hill look like a literary masterpiece, so no substitute for the Heyer. I still wrapped it.
Winter sports are starting! Skating has been going for some weeks, crosscountry skiing FIS races started last weekend, world cup this weekend coming, and biathlon soon, too. Finally, I might make inroads on the ironing basket.
Must go and watch Only Connect. Oh wait, it was yesterday, so recorded and less urgent. I wish I could hear the title without my brain flashing back to memorising quotes for A-level English. “Only connect! That was the whole of her sermon. Only connect the prose and the passion.... I did not enjoy it.
I am not in danger of writing 10,000 words of She Who Became the Sun Canadian shack fic, but I wish I could stop thinking about the sodding Canadian shack fic. And think instead of things more useful, and maybe even find time to write them down.
