As someone who doesn't normally object to winter, I am more than ready for it to be spring. It has been wet and windy rather than especially cold, but windchill and damp does as good a job at trapping me in the house at the moment. The odd daffodil is very nice, but I am looking forward to April.

Still, it is Friday. I've got a bit of a sniffle and am looking forward to a weekend of watching winter sport from the sofa, some art, and attempting to tidy the swathes of paper on the dining table. Plus admiring my glorious amaryllis.

Today I ventured into the garden for the first time. Spring is springing. The hellebores are glorious, shoots are coming up for other things, leaves and even buds are appearing. And blackbirds are chasing each other around the patio.

The Parks have been looking very spring-like - lots of cherry plum blossom, crocuses, a few daffs and even a couple of early violets alongside the last of the snowdrops, and even some tiny green leaves. I failed to post any of the photos I took this week, though, because I kept getting back to the office and immediately being swamped by work again :-(

We took ourselves to the South of France in search of spring (https://mrsredbootstravelblog.blogspot.com/2022/02/in-searh-of-spring-2-february-2022.html) which we found. But today I am sitting here in dreary London watching the rain fall and wishing I were back there!
