I have an ominous "coming down with a cold" feeling (please, please no; I've actually managed to be healthy so far this term), and the current WIP* is sulking in a corner, and I think I need something to stir my brain. So...

Tell me what you want a drabble on, and I shall endeavour to provide. You know the usual fandoms, though I am willing to have a go at something else if that's what you fancy**.

*The current WIP I am trying to write, I mean, as distinct from the many other WIPs waiting more-or-less patiently in a queue.

**NB This offer does not include the Aubrey/Maturin books. That is definitely Never Going To Happen, although I would like to read the Star Trek crossover in which Captain Kirk meets Diana Villiers, if anyone fancies writing it.

[ETA: That is a quite marvellous selection of prompts! Thank you (late-comers are still welcome). We kick off with Zombie Honeymoon.

Now added: Re-enacting Doctor Who, Alleyn and Troy's first date, Crookshanks/Ahasuerus, Harriet's advice to Josephine M. Bettany, Peter, Harriet, Troy and Alleyn, Peter and Lucius Malfoy, Andromeda and Tonks, Peter, Jack Maynard, and hot milk, Captain Kirk meets the Dowager Duchess of Denver, Bunter and young Saint-George, Peter, Harriet, and their brood visit Duke's Denver, and Kenton chatting up Harriet.]

‘Where did you pick them up, Mr Bredon?’

‘Oh, a sale in Montgomeryshire. I’d popped in on the off-chance, and picked them up in a job lot with some other stuff. And knowing the likely provenance, shall we say, I thought that you’d be a better bet than Sotheby’s.’

‘I’m certainly glad you brought them to us. The Paracelcus in particular should pick up a few galleons at auction.’

‘Splendid. Now, if you wouldn’t mind –’

They were interrupted by the ringing of the shop bell and the arrival of a haughty-looking wizard and a boy of about ten. The boy had white-blond hair, and a thin, pointed face.

‘My God –’

‘Excuse me, Mr Bredon, Abraxas Malfoy waits for no man.’ Mr Flourish bustled forward. ‘Mr Malfoy, Master Malfoy, how may I be of service to you today?’

‘Thank you, Flourish,’ drawled Abraxas. ‘We are buying a present for my son. We shall take care of ourselves.’

‘Of course, sir.’ Mr Flourish bustled back to Bredon.

‘Sorry about that, Mr Bredon, but there are some customers who, if not strictly speaking our most valued, must be treated as if they are.’

‘I quite understand. The boy is his son?’

‘Lucius - takes after his mother, Melisande McMillan, a very old family. It was quite the match at the time, though there was a certain amount of suspicion that the girl was adopted after the family produced a few too many Squibs and imbeciles. Still, she came with a good deal of money, and not to put too fine a point on it, the wiser old families know that a bit of well-disguised fresh blood is well worth it these days.’

‘My, my. Still,’ said Mr Bredon, as young Lucius Malfoy looked critically at the colophon of a volume of the unexpurgated Aesop’s Fables, ‘I suppose a taste for books is something.’

[The full effect of the above relies on the fact that one day I’m going to get round to writing the proper Potter/Wimsey crossover mpreg...]

There are plans. There are even scenes and a rationale. The willpower, time, and effort may take a little marshalling, though!

Oh my God. Is that going where that dark hint leads me to suspect it's going?
